Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu has now officially declared plans to displace the population of Gaza south, this came after his security cabinet approved expanded military operations in the enclave.
In preparation, Israel called up tens of thousands of soldiers on reserve. Now ready to mobilize at a moments notice.
Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir on Friday presented a plan reported to include the evacuation of Palestinian civilians from northern and central Gaza, mirroring tactics used earlier this year in southern Gaza’s Rafah.
The IDF chief also stated publicly that the military would “operate in additional areas and destroy all infrastructures above and under the ground.”
There is a “window of opportunity” being left for a hostage deal, as the plan is set to go into full effect next week, after Donald Trump’s visit to the Middle East.
With a senior Israeli official quoted as saying “If no hostage deal is reached, Operation Gideon’s Chariots will begin with full force and will not stop until all its objectives are achieved.”
The military would then remain in any area it captured, and in the officials words “Will not evacuate in any permanent or temporary deal.”
It seems now the plan is both public and official, after Trump’s backing with the offer of U.S troops, that Netanyahu will be attempting to conquer the Gaza Strip.
