The Historically Elitist Trump Cabinet.
Trump Strengthened The Establishment By Pretending To Fight It.
Donald Trump rose to political prominence in his 2016 campaign by largely positioning himself as an outsider. Someone who could come in and fight the elites behind the establishment he coined the “Deep State.”
The problem with this? He was one of those very elites he promised to rid of.
So when he came in and started making very anti-labor moves, including appointing corporate lawyers to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), it should’ve came as a surprise to no one.
Though, somehow, his pleading after-the-fact of how he was taken advantage of by the same swamp he promised to drain was enough to net him a second chance with his base.
This time around it seems he’s decided to forgo any hesitancy and openly give in to the elite, tech-bro side of his base. Possibly emboldened by the over 450 million dollars donated to him from billionaires, 3 times that as much donated to the entire Democratic Party.
His allegiance to this very “deep state” of elites and the establishment comes as a surprise to no one who wasn’t fully bought into his ploy from the beginning.
However, as his base of voters begin turning on his base of donors, I thought we could highlight just how elitist the Trump Cabinet has shaped out to be.
Elon Musk
Co-Director Of Department Of Government Efficiency (DOGE)
Estimated Net Worth: Over $300 Billion.
Elon Musk is most known as the founder of Tesla and SpaceX, or simply for being the richest man in the history of the world. However, despite this wealth, ProPublica reporting found he paid 0 income tax in 2018. In fact, between 2014 and 2018, as his wealth grew $13.9 billion he only paid $355 million in income taxes. A rate of 3.27% where the average family pays a rate of 14.9% of their income.
Elon has a plan to cut $2 trillion in spending from the federal government. Given discretionary spending only makes up $1.7 trillion, and you’re not cutting every dollar of that, he will undoubtedly target Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and other social services.
So don’t be fooled. This is just a re-branding of the typical conservative view of cutting social safety nets that middle and low income families rely on to give more tax cuts that disproportionately benefit the wealthy. It doesn’t matter to them that Social Security keeps over 60% of seniors out of poverty, or that Medicare operates on much lower administrative costs. What we really need are more billionaire tax cuts.
Linda McMahon
Secretary Of Department of Education (DOE)
Estimated Net Worth: $3.2 Billion
Linda McMahon was both Trump’s pick to head the Small Business Administration as well as the co-chair of his current transition team. She was now his pick for Department of Education, despite having no experience in education and lying about having an education degree in the past.
Her and Vince are also now caught up in accusations of allowing the sexual abuse of young boys they had employed, so why not leave her in charge of the education of millions of young boys.
She essentially is picked because of her donations to Trump, and her willingness to gut public education funding. And if they fail on that front, I guess her ineptness that could lead to failure doesn't hurt either.
Howard Lutnick
Commerce Secretary
Estimated Net Worth: $2 Billion.
Howard Lutnick, chairman and CEO of a big time Wall Street investment bank named Cantor Fitzgerald. Of which has been fined massively for multiple controversies. Including misleading investors, hiding their trades when filing, or “naked” short selling with investor accounts.
He seems to be Trump’s pick to handle the tariffs, as a massive supporter of them. Despite economists agreeing Trump’s plan would raise costs for families by almost $4000. This is because for him, he will gain more from eliminating income tax than he would pay for tariffs given he can pass the tariff costs onto consumers.
And it’s already been reported he was using his position as co-chair of the transition team to benefit his personal interests, so one can only imagine what he would do as Commerce Secretary.
Scott Bessent
Treasury Secretary
Estimated Net Worth: Over $1 Billion
Another billionaire donor to Trump getting a coveted position in his cabinet, it seems that is the easiest way to political prominence in the Republican Party. Another hedge fund guy, not as much is known about him outside of his loyalty to Trump.
He shares his position of tax cuts for the wealthy, and matching those with massive spending cuts. As he too pledged at least $1 trillion in cuts from the federal government. Wanting to target programs like Social Security, Medicare, WIC, and other social safety nets.
When I say trumps cabinet is historically elite, I mean it. No cabinet before has had a net worth even close to this, seen the presence of as many billionaires, or been so influenced by campaign donations. I would ask “MAGA” if this is not the deep state elites, then what is?
And the money isn’t the only sign of corruption in the Trump Cabinet. He’s appointed at least 3 members of his families to positions that their qualifications are, questionable for at best. Also unprecedentedly, 10 of his cabinet appointments were former or current contributors to Fox News.
Which is the news station that paid the largest settlement in a defamation lawsuit in US history due to lies their contributors were telling on air. So a very trustworthy cabinet as well.
This is some ELITE Four type villain reveal. Great Job. The working class are at the mercy of these wealthy Giants, how will we pull through?
